The 2016 season garden begins
The Garden at 485 Elm is full for 2016. We have new gardeners, as well as gardeners entering their second and third years here. There are already people on the waiting list, too.
Our first garden potluck of 2016 was in late February. The feast included food from last season’s garden: potatoes, kale, herbs, winter squash, and more.
New and continuing gardeners ate and chatted and ate. We discussed favorite crops and varieties.
Long after the potluck was over, new gardener Peter (also a new student at the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism) and Cindy (our garden coordinator) sorted seeds and planned starts.
Hannah, Albert, Cindy, and Peter at an unplanned workday in early March included chores in preparation for starting seeds.
