Gratitude: UVM TREKkies transform the garden!
Volunteers worked here in the garden all day. It was part of their three-day, peer-led orientation adventures for incoming first-year students at University of Vermont.
Many hands accomplished needful projects that we hadn’t tackled amid the ongoing demands of garden maintenance. Students gleaned fresh food, which we brought to a free community lunch to feed our neighbors at a free community lunch.
These volunteers’ hard work will benefit garden health and productivity this season and in seasons yet to come.

The walkways are weeded and chipped. Turning the garden waste windrow begins. Thank you, TREKkies! Team wellness break. After gleaning greens for donation, TREKkies planted fall greens. Peas are finished, trellis put away for the season, and old vines and weeds incorporated into the garden waste windrow.
