Spring Planting Begins

Even with some frosty nights left, we start planting the moment we can work the soil.

No description available.
What are we planting? Salad greens, kale, Asian greens, mustard greens, collard greens, broccoli raab, carrots, parsnips, and more.
No description available.
This long box is divided into sections with a different crop in each.
No description available.
Scattering straw mulch, giving the seeds a watering, and covering the box with plastic protects the crops on cold nights and keeps the soil warmer during the day.

Two rows are planted with snow peas and snap peas near the trellis so the vines can climb. To the outside of each furrow of peas are rows of radish and daikon radish seeds. Watering in a layer of straw mulch helps keep the soil warm and the weeds down.
