A few small rows of flowers evolved into hundreds, then literally thousands of seedlings.
Susan Gerretson joined the garden in early 2020 and has been the garden’s Flower Lady since 2021. Remember what that time was like? The garden needed Susan and her passion for flowers. We still do!
Christie, a Flower Power gardener, transplants flower seedlings that Susan started in her condo and tended through early spring on growing shelves.
Susan starts and tends them at home on warmed, lighted growing shelves. In late spring, Susan leads the Flower Power team in transplanting annual flower seedlings into the garden. They tend and harvest the flowers all season long. Gardeners arrange them into bouquets for gardeners to take home.

This season, Susan and Flower Power took flowers on the road. A couple of miles from the garden, Flower Power team planted and tends flower beds in front of the Montpelier Senior Activity Center (MSAC).
